Oscar Peterson, 1925-2007

I was favoured reasonably to have conscious jazz at York University while was the kind's chancellor. sober-sided even if our paths never crossed, his coolness was almost palpable. I played in an band under the tutelage of Don Thompson, a Canadian jazz mammoth in his our true, and every once in a while he'd pressure us write down down our instruments and stop talking theory so we could listen to the masters. He'd play us records from his whip-round - Clifford Brown, John Coltrane, Bill Evans - but more often than not we'd find ourselves listening to Oscar Peterson.
